Sacraments

Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated monthly at St. Leo Church. Parents are required to attend our St. Leo Baptism Preparation Class before having their child baptized. For dates and to register for the classes, please download our baptism brochure.

First Eucharist

This Sacrament is celebrated in the spring with our grade school children through the Religious Education department, and at the Easter Vigil service through OCIA with our adult catechumen. For more information about our Religious education program (K-8th Grade), please call Rachel at 402.397.0407. For more information about receiving this Sacrament as an adult through OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults), please call the parish office at 402.397.0407.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered every Saturday from 3:30 - 4:30pm or by appointment during the week (please call the office to set up a time). We also celebrate this Sacrament with additional times during the seasons of Advent and Lent.

Confirmation

The Sacrament or Confirmation is celebrated in the Fall with our Junior High students through the Religious Education department, and at the Easter Vigil service through OCIA with our adult catechumen. For more information about our Religious education program (K-8th Grade), please call the parish office. For more information about receiving this Sacrament as an adult through OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults), please call the parish office.

Marriage

The first step in marriage preparation is to contact a priest to officiate the marriage. A couple must also contact the parish office at least six months in advance of their desired wedding date with the actual date being reserved by the pastor. Wedding times available at St. Leo are on Friday evenings (you set the time) and Saturdays at either 10:00am or 2:00pm.

Holy Orders

The term Holy Orders is used to refer to ordination or to those individuals ordained to the orders of bishop, priest, or deacon. Although only priests are ordained bishops, anyone can choose to venture the vocation of Priesthood or the Deaconate. For more information on these vocations, please visit the Omaha Archdiocesan website.

Anointing the Sick

Our parish priests are available to administer the sacrament of the sick either at your home or at the hospital upon request.
