Twitter: I started a Twitter account for our Young Adults. Follow us @Leo_Young_Adult on Twitter.  Once I get some people using it, I’ll be able to communicate much better with everyone.

Prayer and Study Groups: The following groups are meeting now. If you still want to be a part of any of these groups, please contact John Gencarelli at john@stleo.net for meeting information and to be added to the list. We will always welcome new people.

  • Rosary Prayer Group meets at different times. For information, contact john@stleo.net.
  • The Lectionary Based Bible Study Group for Men meets every Saturday at Starbucks at 114th and dodge @ 1:30 pm. Contact john@stleo.net to be added to the list to receive the material weekly.
  • The Lectionary Based Bible Study Group for Women meets on Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm. E-mail john@stleo.net for information, and to be added to the list to receive the material weekly.
  • Freedom to Love Series: Meets once a month on Tuesday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. For information, call John at 402-397-0407

Come to a low-key atmosphere to discuss Catholic topics, drawing on different and theologically-sound sources such as the Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, encyclicals, and writings of the saints. Upcoming Events (this is the latest schedule and some things have changed!)

January 17: “Agape Latte Series”: Freedom to Love! 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Meet in W-4 at St. Leo Church for part 3 of the series, and since several of you missed part 2, I am going to offer part 2 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, then we’ll have our regular meeting at 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm for Part 3. John will provide some desserts and coffee. Remember to bring your workbooks.

January 19th through February 16th (Thursdays) at 2:00 pm or 7:00 pm A Biblical Walk Through the Mass: In A Biblical Walk Through the Mass, Dr. Edward Sri takes us on a unique tour of the Liturgy. Based on the revised translation of the Mass which goes into effect Advent, 2011, this group study explores the biblical roots of the words and gestures we experience in the Liturgy and explains their profound significance. This intriguing look at the Mass is sure to renew your faith and deepen your devotion to the Eucharist. Cost is $20.00 and will take place in 5 week sessions (one hour each week) on the following dates. Please choose which session from below that you would like to attend. January 19 – Archbishop Lucas will join us at St. Leo to speak about the Canonization process (how do people become saints) and have a short question and answer session. DON’T MISS OUT. Join the Archbishop from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in the Fireplace room/Gym area.

January 20: Irish Soda Bread season is here. Plan to again enjoy your favorite flavors beginning Jan. 20 and help St. Leo Knights of Columbus reach the 2012 goal of a $10,000 donation to the St. Pius/St. Leo School tuition assistance fund. Thank you in advance for your generous support.

January 23: Young Adult Co-Ed Volleyball at St. Leo Church in the gym from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. I think we have around 8 people that want to play so far, so come join us!

February 29: St. Leo Generations of Faith Event – “Leap Into The Mass” - open to all ages and families. Join us at 6:00 pm for a light dinner, prayer and an intergenerational night on “Living the Mass”.  Join us to learn a more in depth meaning to the Mass and why we do what we do.  This is a great way to begin the Lenten season and learn a greater appreciation of the Liturgy.

March 17: Saint Patrick’s Day – Celebrate with us by helping others. Go to the Ronald McDonald House, 620 South 38th Avenue, to serve dinner to the residents. March 19-21: St. Leo Parish Lenten Mission. 7:00 pm every night Monday to Wednesday with Fr. Ron Wasikowski.
