Core of the Music Ministry
Our “Weekly Musicians” form the core of St Leo’s Music Ministry. Each Mass time with music (all weekend Masses except 7:30 AM) has one or two ensembles that lead the congregation in song. Each group, although assigned the same music week to week (with some flexibility), has their own unique way of going about the music.
Responsibilities
Each musician is responsible for looking ahead to what music is going to be done each week (all music selections for each coming week are posted online on the Music Ministry “Portal” Page well ahead of time). Each musician is given a set of music books and is asked to look through the music on their own during the week (especially if you are scheduled to sing the Psalm). The different groups are each required to meet one hour and 15 minutes before Mass in order to rehearse. They are also responsible for helping to keep the music area clean after Mass.
