St Leo Tree Greeter Ministry Page

“The native people showed us unusual kindness, for they kin-dled a fire and welcomed us all” (Acts 28:2)

Ministers of Greeting

These ministers are the first faces our parishioners see. It is important that each and every person who comes to worship at St Leos is genuinely welcomed to Church. It shows how happy we are that they have come to join us to celebrate the Eucharist. All are welcome to the table of the Lord. St Leo prides itself with being a welcoming Parish, and this Ministry helps a great deal.

Responsibilities

Before each of our six weekend masses, the Greeter opens our main doors for parishioners arriving for mass and welcomes them with a “greeting” (hence the name) and a smile. What better way to welcome our community as they gather to praise the Lord! Logistically, we strive each week to have at least one Minister greet at the west doors of the Parish, and anywhere from one to four Ministers to greet at the main entrance into the Church. The need is different depending on the Mass time.
