Environment Ministry Page
"Such a house of prayer must be expressive of the presence of God and suited for the celebration of the sacrifice of Chris,as well as reflective of the community that celebrates there" (BLS, #16)
Liturgical Artisans
These gifted Ministers prepare the worship environment for all major liturgical feasts and seasons celebrated throughout the Church year. The changes of liturgical colors to express the Church season, celebrations of holidays and different seasons in our culture, and the celebrations of our own parish are all taken into account when preparing the artistic shape of our worship space.
Responsibilities
Along with coordinating the two larger changes of environment (Christmas and Holy Week/ Easter), these ministers are responsible for planning and implementing any changes to the liturgical environment throughout the entire church year, as well as continually communicating with the Pastor and parish Liturgist through the Liturgy Committee. Environment Ministers are also asked to shop for all decorations as well as to help keep all storage areas clean throughout the year. During bigger holiday seasons, they also coordinate other volunteers.
