Omaha Archdiocesan Settings
Archbishop Lucas has asked that everyone in the Omaha Archdiocese learn and know two Mass Settings in common. One of them is from the Missal itself (ICEL Chant) and will be in all hymnals produced in the United States. The Other (Mass in Honor of St. Cecilia) was commissioned to be written just for our Archdiocese. The latter has been so well acclaimed that it will appear in Liturgical Press' new hymnal, "Sacred Song." Below, you will find links to listen to these two settings:
Gather Comprehensive: 3rd Edition
In addition to the ICEL Chant Mass (above), our new Gather books have eleven Mass Settings in their entirety, and portions of seven more. This gives us a LOT to choose from and a rich variety of music to enrich our parish. We will be exploring these settings over the next several years. For now, though, we will begin with the familiar (although revised) Mass of Creation:
